I-WELD
Portable
Arc Welding at YOUR site.
Light duty
welding, design/fabrication and repair work from a welder with experience.
Above: Welder RICK using an industrial grade Hobart MIG welder
while on the job at JEEP Corp. in Toledo, Ohio. Doing this job required Rick to
run a 100% duty cycle MIG welder at full wire feed speed and high heat setting
to fusion weld door hinges that were about 1/2" thick to body sheet metal
(galvanized) that was less than 1/16" thick. The welds were expected to look and
feel smooth with no porosity and good penetration. Rick even welded upside down
for the underside of the hinges. Rick welded doors for about five years at Jeep
and floated around the plant doing utility welding for another five years where
he was involved in every type of welding one could imagine. Rick spent a total
of five more years first rough grinding Jeep bodies, then metal finishing the
roof/A post union on Jeep Cherokees where the two parts were brazed together,
with a three inch sanding pad on a 25,000 RPM die grinder. Rick retired early
from Jeep Corp. due to wear and tear on his body and joints and to pursue a
different career as a quality inspector but decided to go back into business as
a welding contractor after a layoff from his inspection job.
Now he will do light welding, weld repair, and fabrication on YOUR work on site
or at your residence. When it comes to welding contractors, experienced welders
like Rick are the best way to go. Rick knows more than one way to weld,
utilizing arc welding for typical welding repairs and fabrication. Rick also
knows how to braze, solder and use all kinds of fusion welding including stick
welding (also called ARC or SMAW,) MIG and TIG welding, Rick is also an expert
fabricator who is able to work from blueprints or even assume a more prominent
role as designer or designer/fabricator. When it comes to your need for fabrication,
repairs, and design of any project that involves welding call one of Toledo's
most talented fabricators.
